Leading principles are in the DNA of the organization (or team). They are already there. They don’t have to be constructed, such as mission and vision. Leading principles are the essential connections of the organization with the outside world and are already at the core of the organization.
It is important and very useful that they are discovered and placed in an order to bring clarity to the organizational chart, roles, products and services. Once discovered, they are easy to communicate in the organization and give energy and direction. Left unclear, they can lead to delays, conflicts, missed opportunities.
